Noel O’ Brien MBA, Dip Dy Sc.

General introduction
My name is Noel O Brien and I was born and raised in the small seaside village of Garryvoe Co. Cork in the South of Ireland. After my Leaving Certificate I studied Dairy Science in University College Cork, after which I was recruited by Avonmore Creameries (now Glanbia PLC).

I carried out various roles up to senior management level in Glanbia including:

My roles in Glanbia involved visiting customers, suppliers, engineering providers and other companies in the Dairy and related industries worldwide, as a result I have built up a wide network of contacts in these sectors.
In 2010, I decided to start my own Consultancy business, Toradh Solutions. This company and I, are in a unique position, based on my many years of experiences and my contact network, to assist clients in developing their own businesses.
Recently I was able to transfer my skills to the Public Sector, having recently completed a contract from the Central Statistics Office as Regional Supervisor for Census 2011. I was directly responsible for interviewing, recruiting, training, managing and motivating 10 Field Supervisors and 120 Census enumerators. This structure was responsible for enumerating 50,000 households in Co Tipperary.

My education
On completion of my Leaving Certificate at Midleton CBS, I studied Dairy Science in University College Cork. Whilst working for Glanbia, I studied part-time for the Master of Business Administration in the Michael Smurfit Business School, University College Dublin. I also studied part-time for the Certificate in Change Management in the Institute of Public Administration and UCD. My other accreditations include:

  • Diploma in Corporate Direction, UCC.
  • ISO 9000 auditing, Batalas.
  • Certificate in Food Hygiene, Teagasc

I look forward to helping you add value to your company,
Best regards, Noel O Brien.
